In 1962 Hergé (AKA Georges Remi, creator of the Tintin cartoons) collaborated with renowned French graphic artist Raymond Savignac on an advertising poster for Tintin orange soda soft drink, a spin-off from the hugely successful comic series.
Tintin first appeared in French in 1929 and featured a hero of the same name who was a courageous young Belgian reporter and adventurer aided by his faithful dog Snowy (Milou in the original French edition). The series was one of the most popular European comics of the 20th century and by 2007, a century after Hergé's birth, Tintin had been published in more than 70 languages with sales of more than 200 million copies and had been adapted for radio, television, theatre and film.
