Restored vintage French advertising poster for Rita waffles, created by Leon Dupin in 1933.
The smiling baker carries two delicious looking waffles while the poster promises "the dessert of choice". Dupin (1898-1971) was a self-taught illustrator who produced a number of great posters in the 1930s. He began working under Joseph Charles in 1936 and turned down a Walt Disney Studios proposal to remain working in Paris. In 1939 he helped to found the Poster Academy.
