Restored vintage advertising poster for Victoria Arduino espresso machines, designed by Leonetto Cappiello in 1922. The poster depicts a dapper looking fellow leaning out of his first class train carriage to make an espresso coffee as he whizzes past a station. Such is the speed of the machine he has several hot espressos lined up in an instant.
Cappiello (1875-1942) was an Italian and French poster art designer and painter who mainly lived and worked in Paris. He is now often called 'the father of modern advertising' because of his innovation in poster design.
Victoria Arduino marketed their first coffee machine in 1905 and the company continues today making and selling quality machines around the world.
