ABOUT THE ART
August Macke (1887-1914) was a German Expressionist painter. He was one of the leading members of the German Expressionist group Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider) and lived during a particularly active time for German art. He knew how to integrate into his painting the elements of the avant-garde which most interested him. Like his friend Franz Marc and Otto Soltau, he was one of the many young German artists who died during the First World War.
Macke’s work was mainly influenced by French Impressionism, by Cézanne, but also by the work of Fauvist painters such as André Derain, Maurice de Vlaminck, Raoul Dufy or Kees van Dongen. Colored Composition of Forms was one of the many paintings Macke completed in 1914 before being called up to war and subsequently killed at the age of 27.
The original of this work resided in the Albertina Museum in Vienna, Austria.

Your order will be sent via Australia Post or courier and will be dispatched direct from our Australian printer & framer. You will receive a tracking link when your order is dispatched - we ask that you keep an eye on delivery progress via your tracking link.

At Retro Print Merchants (RPM), we get it - sometimes you just change your mind, and that's totally okay.
This policy applies to: full-priced framed art, framed and stretched canvas, unframed art prints, and tea towels.
This policy does not apply to: sale items, promotional offers, discounted products, trade or wholesale priced items, bundle offers, greeting cards, personalised items (including personalised beach, market or cycling prints, and personalised tea towels), RPM gift cards, or items purchased with a gift card.
How to Return an Item
1. Email enquire@retroprintmerchants.com.au within 30 days of receiving your order with the name the order was placed under, your 5-digit RPM order number, and your reason for returning.
2. We'll reply with return instructions and the correct address - please don't ship anything back before hearing from us.
3. Return shipping is at your cost and should include tracking. Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging, with a copy of your order confirmation.
4. Ship only to the address we provide (it may vary), as we can't be responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.
5. Once shipped, email us your tracking number.
What Happens Next
Once we receive your return, our production team will assess it and let you know the outcome. For change-of-mind returns, we offer store credit or an exchange - if the exchange item is lower in value, we'll issue the balance as store credit.
