Claude Monet's painting The Artist's Garden in Argenteuil (A Corner of the Garden with Dahlias) was completed in 1873.
This painting depicts the artist's colourful summer garden in Argenteuil, a town on a picturesque stretch of the Seine, 12 kilometres from central Paris. It was 10 years later in 1883 that Monet moved to his now-famous home at Giverny where he lived for the next 43 years.
